Half Nude BBQ Part 2 was inspired by one of my favorite television shows! (bet you can't guess which one!) Part 1 was painted on paper then collaged and assembled on painting 2 so that the final piece shows its origin! A nude BBQ sounds dangerous, but also fun and tremendously liberating. This painting depicts what I imagine an affair of this kind would look like if witnesses by a Pop Artist with a Maximalist style! Three cheers for summer with its disdain for modesty and attention-grabbing color.

As usual, Rhee brings the fire. Color wheel bff's blue & red contrast under swaths of orange, and pops of green, pink and white to create a frenzy of color and interest that feels both deliriously happy and very necessary. This size work would be fantastic in an entryway or in another space where you can greet your guests - or yourself - with a self-loving YES. Yes to fun. Yes to personality quirks. Yes to tomorrow.
