Artist Statement

My art is informed largely by my love of color - as it occurs in nature and as it is interpreted in the world - I am an avid observer of color in differing combinations and patterns found in every area of life and I am fascinated by the way color has a distinct impact on my mood and emotions. The natural world continuously provides inspiration for my work. I am mesmerized by the ocean and by flowers of all types and am amazed in the ways which color and texture can occur in nature and come together in a myriad of ways to represent beauty, strength, weakness, tranquility, and even spirituality, in both complex and simplistic ways.

About the Artist Born and raised outside of Boston, Massachusetts
I have spent the better part of my life trying to chase artistic endeavors. A self taught artist, my journey with painting really began to take shape in 2015 after both my young children had headed off to school full time. For me, painting became an escape from the confusion and noise in the world, while also serving as a means of tapping into the most authentic and spiritual part of my self. I work primarily in acrylics as well as some mixed media artwork. My work is highly influenced by my love of bright, whimsical color combinations. A resident of the Cincinnati area since 2005, I currently reside in Montgomery, Ohio with my husband, two daughters and my very needy Cavapoo, Duff.
