From the Artist: Halloween Self-Portrait as Snoopy was created for the 2020 Art Academy of Cincinnati Halloween Exhibition. Last year I had the idea to create paintings of the quiet moments of my youth with an interjection of color because hue played such a huge role in my life as a child. Photographs from 70's and 80's are fading so in an attempt to preserve the memories of my youth, I began working on brightly colored renditions of photographs. For this portrait, I painted directly on the photograph and mounted it to a game board that I found at a thrift store to give it a quirky presentation.
