Sleeping with the Television On As a child I watched lots of television and became so enamored with all of the quirky characters who could DO ANYTHING if only they put their MIND to it, that I began to weave my character into the movies of my generation until their stories became fused with my own. Now, the past has become disorienting, and I’m not entirely sure if I lived through these experiences or if I just saw them on tv. As the actors, writers, and artists that I love age and die, I feel compelled to pay homage to the ones that kept me company in my youth. By recasting them as the friendly and familial faces of my past, I strive for an alchemy that transforms reality with fiction, and creates a new history that cements a place for these characters in the fondest memories of my life.
