Self Portrait In Homage to Man Ray

Self-Portrait: In Homage to Man Ray was created after viewing a portrait of Countess Casati made by Man Ray in 1928. Ray’s ability to capture the psychology of his model inspired me to create a self-portrait in response. My intention was to make a photograph that gave representation to my ethereal nature just as Ray embodied the erratic nature of Casati's personality in his own. Homage is a performance, a photograph, a painting, a glamor spell, an astral projection, a fact, a fiction, a tribute to the most inventive photographer of the 20th century, and a token of appreciation for our unhinged muses like Countess Casati.
