It's perfectly normal for women to feel as though they are on display even in private moments when they don't expect to be watched. I think all humans are voyeurs regardless of what they say. Most of us can't help but gaze at a beautiful stranger longer than we should, but I think that women struggle with this issue far more than men. Shark in the Water is about this violation of privacy which is encouraged and normalized in our culture.
